The Baby Barn

Rising 8 months to... when the time is right (around two and a half).

The little lives in our Baby Barn might be the youngest... but expectations are just as high.

We  pride ourselves on ensuring that our Baby Barnlings are given every opportunity to truly challenge themselves, take measured risks and have their voice heard.

Our Baby Barn environment promotes heuristic play through interesting and curious provision encouraging babies to explore in their own way. The carefully resourced provision also supports schematic play. This form of repetitive play allows babies and children to actively construct meaning in what they doing and build critical thinking skills to enable them to navigate their world.

Working closely with parents & carers our babies routines are tailored to mirror those from home.

Our aspiration is that all our babies move on to the main barn (when the time is right for them) confident & independent with a thirst to learn and seek new challenges.

We strive to equip our Barnlings with the tools that they need to communicate effectively and actively promote independence. One great way to do this is by teaching Makaton sign language.

Facilitating Early Communication Skills...

We strive to equip our Barnlings with the tools that they need to communicate effectively and actively promote independence. One great way to do this is by teaching Makaton sign language. Makaton is a unique language programme combining signs, symbols and speech. It’s becoming an increasingly popular tool for teaching babies and young children to communicate.
